'You know who I am': Obama's presidential seal falls off podium during s...

he presidential seal fell off President Barack Obama's lectern and clattered to the stage as he delivered a speech to a women's conference.

"That's all right, all of you know who I am," the president joked to laughter from the audience when he realized what had happened.

"But I'm sure there's somebody back there that's really nervous right now, don't you think?" the president added, referring to whatever staffer had hung the seal on the front of his lectern so precariously.

"They're sweating bullets," he said, laughing. "Where were we," he then said, and returned to his remarks.

It happened about halfway through the president's speech to Fortune magazine's "Most Powerful Women Summit" Tuesday night at Carnegie Mellon Auditorium.

Obamas Join Worship Service at Episcopal Church

President Barack Obama and his family made a rare appearance at church on Sunday. The first family attended Sunday morning service at St. John's Church.

With daughters Malia and Sasha, Obama and his wife, Michelle, strolled across Lafayette Square to join an hourlong service at the nearby Episcopal church.

It was the first time in months that the president worshipped in public.

The Rev. Dr. Luis Leon preached that morning on the parable of the dishonest steward.

"Jesus is not endorsing the guy because he's dishonest but because he's shrewd," the rector explained.

Most Americans Don't Recognize Obama's Christianity

Popular conservative broadcaster Glenn Beck is not among the 20 or so percent of Americans who believes that President Obama is a Muslim.

“I'm taking his word that he is a Christian,” said Beck this past week on his self-titled cable-news show. “But here's where it falls apart for many Americans: It's a Christianity that most Americans just don't recognize.”

The television and radio personality went on to examine past statements made by the president and prominent individuals who have been close to him over the course of his life, such as his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright; his close personal friend, Richard Pfleger; and his spiritual adviser, Jim Wallis.

Obama Is Not a Muslim - Hussein Is His Middle Name

President Obama told Christianity Today in 2008, "I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian." According to a new Pew Forum survey, only a third of Americans believe him. This is only slightly more than the 18 percent who think he is a Muslim. Among evangelical Christians, 29 percent believe Obama is a Muslim, but only 27 percent think he is a Christian.

Since March of last year, the percentage of Americans who think Obama is a Muslim has increased from 11 to 18 percent, while the percentage who think he is a Christian dropped from 48 to 34 percent.

Franklin Graham: Obama born a Muslim, a Christian Now

Franklin Graham told CNN's John King that President Obama's family background is creating the perception that Obama is a Muslim.

"I think the president's problem is that he was born a Muslim, his father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father like the seed of Judaism is passed through the mother. He was born a Muslim, his father gave him an Islamic name," Graham said on CNN's "John King, USA."

"Now it's obvious that the president has renounced the prophet Mohammed and he has renounced Islam and he has accepted Jesus Christ. That is what he says he has done, I cannot say that he hasn't. So I just have to believe that the president is what he has said," Graham continued.

This is what Obama wrote for Time in 2006 about his father's religious background.

My father was almost entirely absent from my childhood, having been divorced from my mother when I was 2 years old; in any event, although my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist, thinking religion to be so much superstition.

CNN says it will fact check Rev. Franklin Graham's interview tonight and include comments from his opposition. A partial video is available above.

CNN analyst Roland Martin posted a few more quotes from Graham on his twitter feed:

"I wish the president, over the years, had had a chance to be involved in a real, strong Bible-teaching church."
"I don't think the Rev. Jeremiah's church was a place where he got a grounded in God's Word.
"It would have been better for him to get into a good evangelical church."

Martin thought Graham's view that Trinity under Jeremiah Wright was not Bible-believing was "amazing."

"Frankly, I'd rather hear from Anne Graham Lotz on this issue than her brother, Franklin Graham!" he wrote. "Truth be told, Anne Graham Lotz is a far stronger preacher and teacher than her brother ever will be! That's a preaching woman."

Tobin Grant has more on the Pew Forum poll that suggests that more Americans believe Obama is a Muslim than they previously did while the percentage of those who think he is a Christian has dropped.
